Dr. James C. Johnson began his career in Optometry in 1985 at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital Eye Clinic and in private practice in the Philadelphia suburbs. His duties not only included routine patient care but also involved being a Clinical Instructor for the Hospital’s Externship Program.

Dr. Johnson attended Westminster College on a Presidential Academic Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree achieving Clinical Honors at The Eye Institute and each of his Externship Sites.

Dr. Johnson has been a clinical investigator for several contact lens and pharmaceutical companies evaluating new contact lens materials, designs, and solutions for contact lenses and dry eye syndrome. He has been asked the last several years to be on the Doctor’s Advisory Panel for National Vision, Inc. which discusses and evaluates procedures, protocol, and the business relationships between the Doctors and the Vision Centers. Dr. Johnson actively participates in local and national optometric associations and has had several articles published in nationally known optometric journals.

Dr. Johnson specializes in “hard to fit” contact lenses, primary eyecare, treatment and management of ocular disease, and Lasik surgery co-management.
